What did we accomplish?

Looking back on the year, I felt a bit of sadness at the thought I had not done enough or was effective enough to make an impact. Knowledge certainly helps, so I ran it in my head. Here’s a list:

  • Raised $2310 out of a $2500 goal from 21 awesome donors
  • Planted stickers on 2 continents and one island
  • Spread awareness at Chilly Hilly, Flying Wheels, STP, Kitsap Color Classic and Le Tour de France Femmes
  • Found common ground with the Vice President of Catalunya, Alba Vergés-Bosch. She’s a strong advocate for inclusion, diversity and LGBTQIA+ rights in Catalunya and Spain

I think that’s not bad. Definitely not the daydreams I had of real groundswell change, but something. I know that whatever I do, it will never be enough.

Ok on to fun things. Where are all the stickers?

The world

They are in Washington, Oregon, California, Hawaii, Paris, Lyon, Clermont-Ferrand, and various sites in the Pyrenees. Starting from left to right.

Hawaii, Maui, Dragon’s Pointe, or Makaluapuna Point

The Pacific Region

Susanville, River Trail, and Bizz Johnson Trail

Oregon Coast, Otter Point

Between Depot Bay and Newport Beach.

Portland Oregon, LaurelHurst

Mt. St. Helens, Spirit Lake Highway

During Tour de Blast, actually heading down the mountain. Great ride with great support

Mt. Rainier, the road to Sunrise

Snoqualmie Pass, Palouse to Cascades Trail

Nice trail, and I thought for sure this was further up, but it’s the first old rail sign.

Seattle area, various places

Nice park in Kenmore

BIG LAKE, east of Mt. Vernon

Nice fellow owns the Big Lake Bar & Grill. He was a bit skeptical of my attire, but he warmed up.

Lynden

France

Paris, Montmartre, on the way to Sacré-Cœur

Lyon, outside of Basilique Notre-Dame de Fourvière

On the way from the cathedral to the Roman ruins. Maybe a priest will notice and think.

Auvergne, at the base of the Puy de Dôme

First col. It was a surprise, I had overcooked myself and it was the first one. It made me cry.

Pyrenees

Sadly there wasn’t a sign at the top of the Tourmalet. A young Basque woman said she would plant one, so crossing my fingers. Still haven’t seen a pic though.
