I’ve been making an STP bingo card and looking for pictures to put in the squares. Along the way I’ve run into many photos of Serena, and then I ran into this.

For almost a year now, I’ve wondered what I could have done to make her life fuller, to give her that reason to live, and when I see things like this, I realize I did do all I could. Well at least I tell myself that. All of these things below are true, and when legislators try to outlaw a child’s right to define themselves, it makes me sad.

I was and am still proud of you Serena.
